All-party meet fails to break Parliament logjam as Congress guns for Sushma Swaraj

New Delhi,August 3: A hurriedly convened all-party meet today failed to break the Parliament logjam as the Congress stuck to its guns and demanded the resignations of Bharatiya Janata Party leaders Sushma Swaraj, Vasundhara Raje and Shivraj Singh Chouhan over corruption cases.

A harried-looking Swaraj tried her best to convince the Congress that she did not request the British government to aid tainted cricket administrator Lalit Modi.

"I never requested the British government to give travel documents to Lalit Modi," she said amidst large din by Congress leaders, asking the Rajya Sabha Chairman not to record her statement as it was made without notice.

The government offered to discuss the matter at the all-party meet, but the Congress insisted on resignations first and debate later.
