Bhubaneswar,August 11: Heavy rainfall coupled with gusty surface wind,is likely to lash several places of the State due to a low pressure area formed today over Bay of Bengal under the impact of upper air cyclonic circulation.
Under the influence of upper air cyclonic circulation,a low pressure area has formed over westcentral and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal off north Andhra and Odisha coast, the meteorological department said.
Under its impact, rain or thundershower would occur at many places over the State. Heavy rainfall may occur at one or two places over southern parts of the State during next 24 hours, it said.
Gusty surface wind with speed reaching 35 to 45 kmph may prevail along and off Odisha coast under the influence of the system. Fishermen are advised to be cautious while venturing into sea, the MeT office said.
