BJP's demonstration at Police HQ in Cuttack; Section 144 imposed

Cuttack,August 14: Not satisfied with the action taken by the State government against the shunted Kendrapara SP Gajbhiye,BJP workers today laid siege to the office of the director-general of police here, demanding his outright dismissal and arrest.

The saffron party also demanded a probe by the CBI and Enforcement Directorate into the slew of allegations brought against the suspended IAS officer. Led by senior party leaders,the activists came in rally holding placards and raising slogans against the disgraced cop and the BJD government.

In view of the agitation, Commissionerate Police had invoked Section 144 and imposed prohibitory orders on any public gathering within the 100-metre radius of the police headquarters in Cuttack. In a bid to prevent any untoward incident, 30 platoons of forces were deployed in the area.
