Odisha Assembly Monsoon session begins tomorrow

Bhubaneswar,August17:The Odisha Assembly Monsoon session began from tomorrow.
But the opposition Congress and BJP are set to corner Naveen Patnaik-led BJD on a range of issues, the monsoon session is likely to be stormy.

According to sources, the oppositions will discuss the police brutality over Sarathi Scandal in Kendrapara recently .Besides, other issues like mismanagement of Nabakalebar rituals, Namtara and Belbahali incidents are likely to figure in the list.

Though the State government has already suspended former Kendrapara superintendent of police (SP) Satish Gajbhiye for insensitive police action against agitators demanding arrest of controversial godman Sarathi, the opposition is likely to stall House proceedings demanding arrest of the IPS officer.

Besides, it will be a tough going for the ruling party in the case as Congress has decided to gherao Raj Bhawan a day before the session begins.

Meanwhile, Posco issue is likely to embarrass the ruling party after the company's announcement of putting the Odisha project on hold and signing MoU with Uttam Galva for a 3 MTPA plant in Maharashtra recently
