Vigilance interrogated SP Gajbhiye over land grab

Bhubaneswar,August18: The Vigilance on Monday grilled suspended IPS officer and former Kendrapara superintendent of police (SP) Satish Gajbhiye reportedly on land-grab allegations leveled against him.

Till the last reports came in, the agency sleuths were interrogating the official at the Vigilance directorate in Cuttack.

Ever since police brutality was reported in Kendrapara during protests demanding arrest of controversial godman Sarathi Baba alias Santosh Raula for his social misconduct and association with a woman, Gajbhiye was in the eye of the storm for his alleged links with Sarathi.

As Raula's ill-gotten properties started coming to fore soon after his arrest, it was alleged that the police officer too accumulated properties in Puri district disproportionate to his known sources of income.

As per allegations, he has forcibly occupied a disputed land in Badakiapala village under Gop block of Puri district. Besides,the actual land of 7 acre purchased in the name of his
wife Ranjana, he has occupied more land for pisciculture.
