State govt launches National Ayush Mission

Bhubaneswar,August18:The State government yesterday launched the ambitious National Ayush Mission (NAM). It is also planning to set up a a 50-bed integrated Ayush hospital, either at Puri or Berhampur.

Inaugurating the mission here in the city, the Health minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak said the Rs 10-crore hospital will be part of Rs 42 crore NAM project in the State for the year 2015-16.

The State would set up yoga and wellness centres in Puri, Berhampur, Sambalpur and Rourkela besides seven major parks of Bhubaneswar.

He also said,these centres would promote wellness habits among people to prevent diseases through lifestyle changes.

The government will also strengthen the Ayush laboratories and boost medicinal plant gardens to supply raw materials to prepare ayurvedic formulations in the State, the minister added.
