Mumbai pervert arrested for sexually harassing American Woman

NewDelhi,August19:An American woman was allegedly sexually harassed by an unknown man while on her morning walk near the street of Mumbai's Gateway of India on Monday.
The American National Maryanna Abdo was posted a photo of the man through twitter.Maryanna Abdo, who said the young man masturbated in front of her, took to Twitter, posting the man's picture on the site, eliciting a concerted show of support online, including from Mahrashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis's office,said sources.

She wrote in her tweets posted at 9 am that the incident occurred at a lane next to Gateway of India at 7.50 am. "Please RT - this man just masturbated at me on the street in broad daylight. Ran way after confrontation."

A picture of a young man in a green shirt and light purple shorts accompanied it. Abdo later tweeted that two others in the picture - a coconut seller and a man in khaki uniform responded to her calls for help.

She said the three were on their way to Colaba Police Station with the young man, but that he slipped away en route.

Abdo's message was instantly picked up and retweeted several times. Among those who read and tracked it were officials at the Mumbai police's Social Media Lab, which monitors the internet. They alerted Colaba Police Station, where two teams were formed - one to locate the alleged perpetrator and the other to trace the two other men in the picture.

The tweet caught the attention of Fadnavis's office too - they followed Abdo on Twitter and sent her a direct message, asking that she lodge a formal complaint at the local police station.

Abdo's tweet at 11 am contained a map with a red dot indicating the exact location where she said the incident occurred - she posted 11 tweets in all, most of them reiterating what took place.
