Bandh disrupts normal life in Malkangiri

Malkangiri: Normal life was disrupted in the district today due to a dawn-to-dusk bandh called by the district Congress seeking suspension of Chitrakonda MLA and fulfillment of three charter of demands.

Educational institutions, shops and business establishments remained closed during the period and vehicular movement was also affected as the protestors staged demonstrations at different places of the district demanding suspension of the Chitrakonda MLA who allegedly asked bribe from a private-owned company and against the irregularities in the municipal election.

However, emergency services remained operational as the mob spared the services from the 12-hour shutdown. Adequate police forces had been deployed at different places of the district to avoid any untoward incident.
