Sishu Bhawan death: heath secretary assures action over guilty

Bhubaneswar, September 8: Health Secretary Arti Ahuja on Tuesday informed that ‘no clinical negligence’ was committed at the Sardar Vallabhai Patel Post Graduate Institute of Padediatrics popularly known as Sishu Bhawan for the death of infants.

After examining the report of DMET-headed team constituted to probe the Sishu Bhawan mishap, Ahuja told reporters that nearly 80 percent infants had come to the Sishu Bhawan from distant places and also in critical conditions.

Admitting that management and administrative negligence was committed at the Sishu Bhawan, Ahuja said that action would be taken against responsible.

Meanwhile, considerable decrease can be marked in the numbers of visitors to the hospital which was earlier 40-50 visitors daily.
