Gas cylinder blast in M.P, more than 40 killed

Jhabua, September 12: More than 40 killed and 80 injured in a gas cylinder blast in a house where explosives were stored in Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh in the morning today.

The gas cylinder explosion has caused damages to a number of adjacent buildings.

State Home Minister Babulal Gaur said a high-level inquiry has been ordered into the incident. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh each to kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for those injured.

A team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) was dispatched to Jhabua to help in the salvage operations of the collapsed building.
