Odisha on 7th Rank for Reforms to Ease Business World Bank Report

Bhubaneswar, Septmber 15: Here comes a good news  for the State that Odisha has been ranked  7th among the states which reforms process for ease of doing business. However, it is still behind neighbouring Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

According to Business Reforms Report 2015 by the World Bank ,which was revealed on Monday, states that Odisha has scored 52.1 per cent for implementing the 98-point action plan .Whereas Gujurat tops the list with the highest 71.14 per cent, Andhra Pradesh got the second position with 70.12 per cent followed by Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.

Odisha has scored much better than many other developed States like Maharashtra, Punjab, Delhi, Haryana and Tamil Nadu and managed to find a place in top-10 list which is a big achievement for state economy.

The report shows that  West Bengal occupied the 11th position Tamil Nadu (12th), Haryana (14th), Delhi (15th), Punjab (16th), Himachal Pradesh (17th), Kerala (18th), Goa (19th), Bihar (21st) and Assam (22nd). Arunachal Pradesh is ranked the last with 1.23 per cent.

This report has been made on account of labour reforms, digitisation of tax payment and environment clearance procedures.
