Bar associations meet against removal of SAT, lawyers cease to work continues

Cuttack, September 15: Opposing the decision of the state government to abolish the Tribunal, the Cuttack bar which is associated with State Administrative Tribunal(SAT) has continued its cease work.

A meeting will be held among the Cuttack Bar, Bhubaneswar Bar and all other bar associations today regarding the course of action further.

President of OAT Bar Association Ullas Mohanty said the Cabinet decision to abolish OAT was taken in a hurried manner without taking the public opinion or making alternative provisions.

The Bar has sought support of the High Court Bar Association and other Bars in the City to intensify the agitation.

Meanwhile, the Bar members have moved to streets burning tyres to show their agitation against the govt decision to remove the Odisha Administrative Tribunal(OAT).
