Bangladesh PM to receive United Nations Champion of the Earth award

Dhaka, September 15: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been awarded with the United Nations 'Champion of the Earth' award that will be given away her during the United Nations General Assembly session to be held in New York later this month.

Reportedly, Hasina has been recognised by the United Nations for her contribution towards environmental preservation, Ehsan-ul-Karim

The Champions of the Earth Award is the United Nations highest environmental honour that recognises outstanding visionaries and leaders in the fields of policy, science, entrepreneurship, and civil society action.

The award is organised by the United Nations Environment Programme ( UNEP).
