September 16: World Ozone Day

Bhubaneswar, September 16: Every year, on September 16, the World celebrates the International day for the preservation of Ozone layer as the World Ozone Day. 

During the United Nations convention in Vienna for the Montreal Protocol, the General Assembly declared September 16 as the World Ozone day in order to remind the world of the depleting ozone layer.

Ozone layer protects the human being from the ultra violet rays  of the sun. However, the day-to-day increasing population, pollution and global warming is resulting in various environmental issues which has also caused hole in the Ozone layer. Due to which the living beings on earth are facing many diseases.
