Singer Arabinda Muduli Attacked By Drunck men,1 Held

Bhubaneswar;Sept 18: Popular devotional singer Arabinda Muduli was injured after two drunk youths attacked him near his house at Bhimatangi here on Thursday.

The Airfield police arrested one of the tipsy men, identified as Ila Behera, on the basis of a complaint lodged by the singer. The second accused is on the run.

Muduli said the incident occurred around 12pm when Muduli and his son Jagabandhu were returning home in their car."The two men had parked their motorcycle in the middle of the road. When my son requested them to remove the motorcycle, one of the youth abused him then they suddenly attacked Jagabandhu, who fell on the road. "When I stepped out of the car, they attacked me and hurled insults at me. I sustained injuries on face".

Locals rescued Muduli and his son and took them to Capital Hospital.

Besides lodging a complaint, the singer supplied footage from the CCTV camera installed in front of his house.

"The CCTV footage helped us to identify the accused. We have arrested one of them. The accused are local residents," said a police officer.
