More Than 300 Villagers' Withdrawal Of Support To Reds

Malkangiri:Sept 18: Seven villages under Moteru panchayat of the district more than 300 Maoist supporters surrendered before Malakangiri SP Mitrabhanu Mahapatra on Friday.

Prior to the surrender, the Maoist supporters marched in a procession towards the District Headquarters of Police here.

"Villagers surrendering and choosing to join the mainstream is spontaneous. Police have never forced them. The people are doing so after they realized that the Maoists have done nothing for their well-being," said SP (Malkangiri).
