Sensex Ends 255 Points Higher,Nifty @ 7,982.

Mumbai;Sept18: Buoyed by the US Federal Reserve's decision to maintain status quo on policy rate, the domestic market staged a smart rally on Friday, with S&P BSE Sensex gaining 255 points, or 0.98 per cent, led mainly by the rate-sensitive stocks.

The 30 share BSE index opened on 166.39 points high at 26,130 and end of the trading it closed with 255 points high or 0.98 percent at 26,219.

The 50 Share NSE index NIFTY opened on 68.30 points high at 7,967.45 in morning and end of the trading it closed with 83 points high or 1.05 per cent at 7,982.

The rupee appreciated by 65 paise to 65.81 against the US dollar.
