Hirakud Dam Opened 13 More Gates

Sambalpur, septmber 22: After water was released from two sluice gates on Sunday, 13 more gates of Hirakud Dam were opened on Monday. With low pressure triggering rain upstream since Sunday, there has been a substantial rise in the inflow of water into the dam.


At 7 pm on Monday, the water level at Hirakud Dam Reservoir  stood at 627.89 feet against Full Reservoir Level of 630 feet.


The inflow of water into the Hirakud Dam is 1,76,853 cusec while the outflow is 2,68,444 cusec including release of 4,134 cusec water into Bargarh Main Canal, 500 cusec into Sason Canal, 74 cusec into Sambalpur Distributary and seven cusec into Hirakud Canal.
