Odisha girl awarded at Google Science Fair in California

Bhubaneswar, septmber23: A class XI student from Odisha's Koraput district won the community impact award at prestigious Google Science Fair 2015 held at California in the United State.

Thirteen-year old Lalita Prasida Sripada Srisai, who studied in Delhi Public school at Damanjodi in the tribal dominated district, displayed her project regarding cleaning waste water by running through different layers of corn cobs at the fair.

She received $10,000 as prize money. Lalita will be supported for one year by Scientific American, a sponsor of the award, for further research on her project. She has won the award in 13-15 age group.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated her and said she has made Odisha and India proud.Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan also congratulated and wished her all success.
