High Level Meeting on Block Grant Teachers Strike

Bhubaneswar, septmber 24: On the issue of the Block Grant teachers strike a high-level meeting is being held today here to find a solution to the deadlock that has arisen out of the ongoing agitation of Block Grant Teachers' and Employees' Association since more than one month.

This meeting is attended by seven ministers including Finance minister Pradip Amat and five senior officers including chief secretary Gakula Chandra Pati. The meeting is also attended by members of the Block Grant teachers' association.

The Block Grant teachers have decided to take out a 'padyatra' on September 28 in Hinjili of Ganjam district on the subject for fulfillment of their demands.

It is reported that, studies of hundreds of students in the State have been affected due to the Block Grant teacher's strike since August 18.

Meanwhile, demanding full-grant, Odisha Vidyalaya Sikhyak Mahasangh has been striking work and threatened to gherao the Secretariat on September 30, if their demands are not met.
