Maoists calls 12-hour Malkangiri bandh today

Malkangiri,septmber 25: The CPI (Maoists) of Malkangiri division today declared a 12-hour bandh in the district protesting against recent surrenders of rural Naxalite supporters and militias in this Naxal-infested region.

Maoist posters are found at many places in Kalimela areas of the district. The posters asked the people support the bandh and make it a success.

A release issued by committee secretary Punam Chand said that the government has failed to rehabilitate surrendered extremists properly.The release further claimed that police are misleading gullible villagers with false promises while Maoist organization is fighting for legitimate rights of the poor tribals.

On the other hand police have tightened the security in view of the bandh.Security forces have frisked the vehicles at many places.
