Furnace Blast At Rourkela Steel Plant, 4 Workers Seriously Injured

Rourkela, September 30: Reportedly four workers were seriously injured following a furnace explosion at Rourkela Steel Plant(RSP) today.

Sources said, the accident took place in the  Blast Furnace-5.

The labourers who reportedly received 30-40% burn injuries, have been rushed to Ispat General Hospital who are now under treatment at the IGH Burn Centre in critical condition.

The workers have been identified as Sibnath Kachhap, Satyajit Solapur, Sriram Anil and Meghnath Pandia.

According to the investigation, the blast took place during the charging of the generator in the PCR Unit.
