CM Naveen Pattnaik Calls For Emergency Meeting Over Barabati Indiscipline During The Match

Bhubaneswar, October 6: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik called an emergency meeting today to discuss about the furling of water bottles onto the field by spectators at Barabati stadium in Cuttack during the T20 match between India and South Africa yesterday.

India did not play well in the match following the angry fans started throwing water bottles and pouches to the ground halting the match twice for 19 and 24 minutes respectively.

The meeting would be attended by DGP Sanjeev Marik, Police Commissioner RP Sharma, Intelligence Director, OCA president and secretary which is reportedly to begin at 5.30 pm today.

Meanwhile,former Indian team manager and president of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) Ranjib Biswal on Tuesday described the unruly crowd behaviour at Barabati stadium as grossly unfortunate.

The meeting going to be held today would review the reasons behind the shameful act of the people.
