Low Pressure To Trigger Heavy Rain In Odisha

Bhubaneswar, October 7: The Meteorological Centre here on Wednesday predicted that most parts of the State would experience moderate to heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours.

A low pressure was formed over the north Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood on Wednesday under the influence of upper air cyclonic circulation over east-central Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood with the associated upper air cyclonic circulation extending up to mid-tropospheric level. The system would be well marked during next 24 hours.

Under its influence, rain and thundershower would occur at many places over Odisha with heavy rainfall at one or two places over coastal Odisha during next 48 hours. Strong and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-45 kmph with a gusting up to 50 kmph from northeasterly direction would prevail along and off the Odisha coast.

Fishermen have been warned not to venture in to the sea as its condition will be rough during the period.
