3 Jawan Injured In Gun-Battle With Maoists In Malkangiri

Malkangiri, October 8: Reportedly three jawans sustained major injuries during a Maoists encounter in the Kumarpada forest in the limits of Malkangiri district today morning. 

The jawans of Cobra battalion were on combing operation in the forest when the Maoists cadres started indiscriminate firing at battalion on the border. In the firing three jawans were injured critically and shifted through an army aircraft to a hospital in Raipur.

According to the sources, the most wanted Maoists leader Uday leader is reportedly said to have fled away the scene.

There were reports of another exchange of fire between troops and Maoists at Nakamamudi forest in the district. According to police, both encounters are going on at two different locations in the district.
