Woman Judge Dies In Childbirth In Sambalpur, Tension Sparks In Localites

Sambalpur, October 9: A woman judicial magistrate of Sambalpur court died after going a Caesarian surgery at Astha Nursing home in Sambalpur here.

The deceased has been identified as Champabati Hati died during giving birth to a baby boy on Wednesday evening.

The husband of the deceased alleged that she died due to medical negligence and lodged a complain at Ainthapali police station.

He alleged that her expected date of delivery was October 15 but the doctors advised him to conduct a caesarian operation eight days ahead the scheduled date following which he got his wife admitted in the nursing home.

Denying the allegations the owner of the nursing home said, "Champabati died of a cardiac arrest and things will be clear after the postmortem report comes".

Following the death of the woman magistrate tension errupted among the localites demanding probe into the matter and take the nursing home into account.

Meanwhile, Sambalpur District Bar Association has demanded that the registration of the nursing home should be cancelled.
