Sundergarh, October 9: Union Tribal Welfare Minister Jual Oram yesterday sought for an inquiry into the illegal iron ore stacked near a railway siding in Sundargarh district following which a special task force team of the state Mines department arrived in the district on Friday and started an on-the-spot investigation.

Oram in his letter requested Union Mines minister Narendra Singh Tomar to send a team of officials of the Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM) to probe into the incident and initiate appropriate action in this regard.

Oram said a huge stock of 30 thousand metric tonnes worth of Rs.100 crore minerals has been found near the Rengra railway siding in the Koida mines area of Sundargarh district recently. While the minerals have been stacked for transportation, there has been no claim of these minerals by any mine owner, he said.
