Modi 'worst victim' of ideological intolerance, says Arun Jaitley

New Delhi,November 2: Finance minister Arun Jaitley on Sunday hit back at the government and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the "worst victim" of ideological intolerance and called upon "well wishers" to maintain restraint so that India's growth story was not affected.

In a Facebook post, he targeted the opposition for holding up reforms in Parliament and blamed Congress and Left-leaning thinkers and activists for spreading propaganda about social strife in the country. 

"They wish to project India as an intolerant society. The truth is otherwise. Perpetrators of this propaganda never allowed alternative viewpoints to grow in either universities, academic institutions or cultural bodies that they have controlled. 

Their intolerance extends to not accepting an alternative ideological pole," Jaitley said.
