Riyadh,November 10: Two Indians were among three persons injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire at a security patrol in Saudi Arabia's troubled eastern Qatif region, an official said today.

An Interior Ministry spokesman said a traffic patrol at Alkhwaildieh district in Shia-dominated Qatif came under heavy fire from a farming area, wounding a policeman and two Indian passers-by last evening.

The injured were rushed to the hospital and their condition was stated to be stable, the official as saying.

A car was also hit without injuring its driver, he added.

Security authorities immediately rushed to the spot and started search for the gunmen.
