Fire breaks out at furniture shop in Odisha Capital

Bhubaneswar,November 12:A major fire broke out at a furniture showroom in Palasuni area of Bhubaneswar destroying properties worth Rs 1 crore. 

According to eye witnesses present at the spot, flames from crackers led to the fire.

The incident occurred at Kwality Furniture showroom situated near the Saptasati Temple in Palasuni.

Though the police and fire tenders rushed to the spot, the blaze was so severe that it took 3 hours to bring it under control, informed sources.

Though no casualties were reported, seven inmates of nearby girls' hostel were taken ill after smoke from the shop engulfed their premises, said sources.
