Firecracker explosion: 40 injured, properties worth crores gutted in blaze

Bhubaneswar,November 12: As many as 40 persons including 3 children at different places in the capital city sustained injuries due to firecracker explosions during Diwali celebrations on Wednesday evening.

The injured were admitted to hospital for the treatment.

While two youths sustained critical injuries due to explosion of firecrackers in their hand, a youth from Khurda admitted to Capital Hospital here after suffering from burn injuries due to explosion.

In another incident, a major fire broke out at a furniture showroom in Palasuni area here on Wednesday evening destroying properties worth Rs 1 crore. According to eye witnesses present at the spot, flames from crackers led to the fire.
