'Vedalam' creates history by breaking all records at the box office

New delhi,November 12: Tamil star Ajith's Diwali release 'Vedalam' has created history at the box office by breaking all records in Kollywood with its first day collection.

Released on Tuesday, 'Vedalam' grossed 15.5 crore on day one, making it the biggest opening in Kollywood. The commercial entertainer directed by Siva and starring Ajith, Lakshmi Menon and Shruti Haasan has cashed in on the Diwali holiday, fetching around 12 crore on day 2. 'Vedhalam' has broken box office collection records of Rajinikanth's 'Lingaa' and Vijay's 'Kaththi'.

The film released in over 500 screens across Tamil Nadu. Ajith's 'Vedalam was up against Kamal Haasan's 'Thoongavanam' which also released on Diwali.
