No strict action against Gajbhiye: CAT

Bhubaneswar: The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) today said, the state government not to take strict action against former Kendrapada SP Satish Gajbhiye over the police brutality.

Previously, Gajbhiye was placed under suspension on August 13 for the police excesses during the anti-Sarathi protest in Kendrapada on August 7 in violation of the service rules. 

The Home Department Principal Secretary had served a notice to Gajbhiye on October 13 after charges were framed against him. Besides, the Union Government had approved his suspension since October 17 as per All India Service Rules.
