According to the doctors attending the Prime Minister, his condition is said to be stable and will be under observation for the next 48 hours. He is doing well after the surgery and all vital signs are stable.
The first health bulletin on the PM from his doctors was out at about 6pm. His condition remained normal and is likely to regain consciousness in three-four hours. He was admitted into hospital on Friday afternoon. His surgery is the first beating heart bypass operation at AIIMS.
The 11-member team from the Asian Heart Institute (AHI) and AIIMS led by Oriya doctor Dr Ramakant Panda began the marathon operation at 0715 hrs IST which finally ended at about 1600 hrs IST.
Earlier in the week, the Prime Minister had complained of chest pain and then went through a series of tests where some blockages were found in his arteries.
The team which operated upon the Prime Minister said that he will take about six to eight weeks to recover fully and resume work. |
