The trade unions have threatened to call the strike demanding an immediate wage settlement of over 1 lakh regular and 75,000 contract workers of Steel Authority Of India (SAIL).
CITU General Secretary Bishnu Mohanty said the workers would go on the two-day strike if SAIL management failed to meet their demands for 28 percent Minimum Guaranted Benefit (MGB), 3 and 3.5 percent increment and 46 percent fringe benefits to the workers at par with SAIL executives.
Meanwhile, INTUC led Rourkela Shramik Sangh has also threatened to call a strike after February 18 demanding wage revision. PTI |
