Will mother-in-law and retired district judge Giribala Singh now be arrested in the high-profile Twisha Sharma death case? The Madhya Pradesh High Court has overturned the lower court’s decision that had granted anticipatory bail to Giribala. The High Court stated that the lower court failed to properly consider the facts, witness statements, and the seriousness of the allegations. Twisha’s father and the Madhya Pradesh government had approached the High Court seeking cancellation of the bail. Allegations were made that Giribala was not cooperating with the investigation and was trying to influence evidence. The Advocate General reportedly argued that while she had time to attend press conferences, she continued to avoid police notices. Meanwhile, after the cancellation of her bail, the CBI has sought Giribala’s custody. Following the cancellation of bail, Giribala was seen early this morning feeding stray dogs outside her gate. On Tuesday, the CBI recorded her statement. Twisha’s husband, Samarth Singh, has been taken into CBI remand till May 29. On Wednesday, the agency also conducted a crime scene recreation with Samarth present. Giribala was also at the spot during the recreation. Acting on CBI instructions, the state police has already handed over all documents related to the case to the central agency. Twisha’s family members have demanded Giribala’s immediate arrest and remain hopeful that their daughter will finally get justice. Why did Twisha allegedly die by suicide just five months after her marriage? Twisha was known to be cheerful and lively. Twelve days after her death, her body was exhumed and a second post-mortem examination was conducted. Serious allegations have surfaced that she was subjected to dowry harassment and mental torture. It has also been alleged that she was pressured to undergo an abortion.
