Semi-Nude Body of Unidentified Youth Recovered from Culvert in Erasama, Murder Suspected
The decomposed body of an unidentified youth was recovered from a culvert near Jalau Chhak in Jagatsinghpur's Erasama area. Police suspect murder and have launched an investigation while awaiting the post-mortem report.

Sensation gripped the Erasama area of Jagatsinghpur district after the semi-nude body of an unidentified youth was recovered from a roadside culvert near Jalau Chhak along NH-55 under Erasama police limits. According to reports, local residents noticed a foul smell emanating from the area and began searching for its source. During the search, they discovered a decomposed body inside a drainage culvert. The body appeared to have been lying there for several days, resulting in severe decomposition and making identification difficult. After being informed, Erasama Police rushed to the spot and, with the assistance of the Fire Services personnel, recovered the body and launched an investigation into the incident. Preliminary investigations suggest that the youth may have been murdered two to three days ago and the body was later dumped inside the culvert in an attempt to conceal the crime. However, the identity of the deceased remains unknown as the face has been badly damaged and is beyond recognition.
Considering the seriousness of the case, a scientific team also visited the scene and collected forensic evidence. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and police officials said the exact cause of death will be known only after the autopsy report is received. Speaking on the matter, Erasama Police Station IIC Partha Pritam Beura said that efforts are underway to establish the identity of the deceased and ascertain the circumstances surrounding the death.Police have registered a case and are continuing their investigation from all possible angles.
